22 Oct Lydia & Jason’s bright and bold summer flowers at Kings Manor, York
This wedding contained the whole garden! The brief from Lydia & Jason was all the flowers and all the colours, the bolder the better! In June the garden is just bursting with summer flowers so the timing for this brief was perfect. We picked everything and anything!
The wedding ceremony was in a beautiful village church just next door to Lydia’s family home and then followed by a reception in the incredible Kings Manor in York.
So this was the day when we created huge 9ft long window sill floral arrangements. I mean HUGE! When we started these in the workshop I was sure I must have measured the windowsills wrong and I almost rang Kings Manor. I couldn’t believe a window could be this big! I needed to put together two trestle tables just to do one! I flipping loved them though. Go big or go home!
Flowers and foliage we used: Foxgloves, peonies (lots of varieties picked from the garden), sangiosoba, nigella, rosemary, antirrhinums, foxtails, astilbe, clematis, geum, stocks, cornflowers, freesia, astrantia, sweet peas, feverfew, alliums, red parrot tulips, veronica and many more foraged beauties.
Thanks to Suzy Wimbourne Photography for the fantastic photos below! Love them. Especially love the two princesses captured through the day shadowing Lydia. So sweet!
I have added in a few of my photos from the day at the bottom too.
Congratulations Lydia & Jason xx
