19 Oct Emily & Ben’s Country Yurt May Wedding
Emily & Ben married in St Columba Church at Topcliffe followed by a lovely and relaxed country reception in a Yorkshire Yurt set in the grounds of Queen Mary’s School.
I can’t believe I’m only just sharing this wedding now! I loved this one! Well I do love a floral arch! It was a gorgeous late spring day (almost summer feeling) and after the incredibly long cold early spring (which felt more like winter with April snow) it finally felt like summer might actually arrive this year.
The brief from Emily was english garden like, wild flowers, unstructured and very natural – oh hello! Yes! It was perfect timing for me to include some of my favourites from the garden; lily of the valley from the garden (some stolen with permisson from my Mum’s garden) and the sweet peas in our polytunnel were ready just in time! We could use whole branches to incorporate into Emily’s trailing bridal bouquet for a natural cascading shape.
Floral and foliage ingredients: Ranunculus, lily of the valley, lilac, sweet peas, freesia, aquilegia, stocks, honesty, white parrot tulips, phlox, blue pirouette clematis, scabious, white iris, veronica and some foraged specials!
Below are a few images from the day from Wooden Hill Images (credited under the image) and then I have included a few of my own beneath.
