17 Oct Aggie & Andrew’s Romantic Summer Wedding
Aggie and Andrew were absolutely lovely to work with from the very beginning to the finish. I really loved creating their wedding flowers. They married on a beautiful early June summers day and the florals reflected the season with a feeling of elegance, romance and effortless. The marriage was in All Saints Church – Helmsley followed by a reception at The Pheasant Hotel in Harome.
Aggie really wanted dreamy, romantic flowers, which also reflected the garden and natural Yorkshire moorlands surrounding the wedding. It was a pretty dreamy brief and I loved putting it altogether. There were so many textures and scents to use. I think their wedding was in a magical moment (well for me) when lily of the valley is still going and early sweet peas are just arriving. Mmm mmm – two of my favourites and two with the BEST scents!! We also used beautiful trailing hand died silk ribbons from Lancaster and Cornish on Aggie’s bouquet for that something extra.
Flowers and foliage we used: lily of the valley, scabious, nigella, sweet peas, wax flower, secret garden rose, silver lace spray rose, aquilegia, duchess peonies, Sarah Bernhardt peonies, honesty, stocks, mint, rosemary and some more foraged delights!
After the wedding I received this lovely email from Aggie & Andrew. Super happy dance when I receive messages like this.
“I just wanted to drop you a quick email to thank you for how stunning our flowers and decorations looked on the day.
The church looked absolutely amazing. When I saw it for the first time, I was speechless. I loved it! The reception venue looked equally beautiful and so were the bridal party flowers. Everything looked dreamy and romantic yet still very natural and understated, which was exactly what I wanted. Clearly a proof that you have really listened during the planning process. From our first meeting I was very pleased with your service, help and advice. I could see that you understood what I wanted to achieve on the day and I wasn’t wrong. I would be very happy to recommend you to anyone who’s looking for a great florist.”
Here are a few images from the day. The first ones, as credited, from Ann Kathrin Koch Photography. Then a few of my own which I wanted to share.
